Yet another thing Forrest Gump and I have in common. I started running “seriously” yesterday morning. I chose a track that is grossly 5 kilometers long and timed myself – 34 minutes.
Running is a great way to start your day, especially when you combine this with screaming “all your base are belong to us” (I love the 1999 retro chic it has) at the top of your lungs in the middle of the forest and hear the echo from the other side of the valley, one kilometer away.
The 1998 adidas road shoes I have are getting really old. I’m hesitating between new trail shoes and new road shoes. My current track is half country road, half forest trail – it’s not as if I were running through mud. Street shoes would be fine for here, but wouldn’t trail shoes be a wiser long-term investment for Scotland in September?
I’m off for my run.
