Chkrootkit finds /lib/init/rw/.ramfs on debian etch

If you have chkrootkit installed on debian etch, you might be getting these messages:/etc/cron.daily/chkrootkit:
The following suspicious files and directories were found:
/lib/init/rw/.ramfs

This is a bug in initscripts, which puts a hidden file in /lib/init/rw but shouldn't. Until it is fixed, you can patch chkrootkit to get rid of that message.

Update: Apparently, ...

Maxime singing

What's my brother up to?
"We returned to Stacy's house for our fall retreat 2006, where we rehearsed some of our repertoire in a wine cave to hear an acoustic similar to that of Hearst Mining on the Cal campus. While there, we practiced one of our favorite pieces, Josef Rheinberger's ...

iPod nano in stockings

Adeline received an iPod nano for her birthday and was afraid of scratching it. Unfortunately, the stores and shops in Strasbourg don't have any cases or socks for nano yet. This is what we came up with instead. The buttons and wheel work fine and the screen is readable, which ...

The cat is out of the bag

You might have heard about the IDN spoof thing that has been going around. In short, because of a big company called verisign messing up, you can register domain names that look like other domain names. So to make fun of them, I registered Veriѕign.com and put up a parody ...

I am the #87 ISP in Luxembourg

Amusingly, that's what FindAnISP tells me. Apparently, I used to be #43 in the top web pages for "Luxemborg" [sic], too. This is something I can tell dates and customers for IT consulting: "I single-handedly built one of the country's top ISP's, without even noticing!"

Thanks Frigo!

S5: A Simple Standards-Based Slide Show System

S5 is a slide show format based entirely on XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript. With one file, you can run a complete slide show and have a printer-friendly version as well. The markup used for the slides is very simple, highly semantic, and completely accessible. Anyone with even a smidgen of ...
